HSEQ Advisor
Location: Reading
Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider in various industry sectors, is seeking a dedicated HSEQ Advisor to join their team. With extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities, our client specialises in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases.
In this role, you will take a leading role in managing multiple site-based teams, providing HSE support and guidance, and driving a positive safety culture. You will work closely with the Regional HSE Manager to implement the company HSE strategy, improve the Safety Management System and processes, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop project/site HSE plans in collaboration with Operational Management and the Regional HSE Manager
2. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships related to HSE matters
3. Provide competent health and safety guidance
4. Conduct frequent on-site monitoring and auditing to ensure legal compliance
5. Ensure effective execution of customer site audits and timely closure of any arising actions
6. Engage with site personnel, client representatives, and site supervision to drive safety culture
7. Advise and support site supervision on incident investigation and closure
8. Deliver on-site coaching, safety interventions, toolbox talks, and training
9. Maintain open communication and provide feedback to the workforce on identified hazards
10. Promote the use of the company HSE Management System and identify areas for improvement
11. Report concerns regarding non-compliance or potential non-adherence to legislation
Identify and monitor issues, create new ideas, and drive improvements to:
12. Products and services
13. Health, safety, and environmental performance
14. Ensure hazards associated with site activities are identified and control measures are implemented
15. Review, amend, and update safety documentation
16. Record accidents, incidents, and near misses and conduct root cause analysis
17. Disseminate HSE information and provide guidance on HSE systems and initiatives
18. Conduct HSE audits and inspections on-site
19. Assist in developing and monitoring compliance with HSE performance indicators
20. Contribute to the continual improvement of the HSE culture
21. Deliver on-site HSE training and support safety campaigns
22. Provide guidance and support on HSE matters to on-site personnel and management
23. Attend client meetings, manage HSE for site projects, and support BUK management
24. Recruit and develop the HSE team as required
25. Maintain professional competencies and present safety information to the leadership team
Experience & Qualifications
26. Auditing/Inspection experience
27. Incident management and investigation skills, report writing
28. Knowledge of HSE legislation and CDM regulations
29. NEBOSH General Certificate (Essential)
30. Grad IOSH Status (Essential)
31. NVQ 5/NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) desired
32. Experience with management system standards and improvement planning
33. Knowledge of industrial services sector and petrochemical industry
34. Competent in delivering training
