We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in Key Stage 3/4 at our partner secondary school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student with special educational needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
- Provide 1:1 support for a student with specific learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school activities.
- Support the student's social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and building confidence.
- Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to implement individualised learning plans and adapt teaching strategies.
- Assist with monitoring and tracking the student's progress, reporting observations and concerns to the SENCO.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Foster a positive and encouraging relationship with the student to help them develop both academically and socially.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable, though not essential.
- Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties, autism, or emotional and behavioural needs.
- Familiarity with strategies and interventions for supporting students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
