Data Governance & Control Senior Manager £95,000 15% bonus benefits Can be based from Glasgow, Newcastle or Chester office (2 days) Reporting to the Head of Data Governance and Regulation you will hold a senior management position and be responsible for a team of around 10 within Data Governance. It's essential that you have previous experience working for a UK bank and we cannot offer sponsorship for this role The Job: Education of the business and build a data centric culture, whereby the focus is on data accuracy at the outset and prompt identification, assessment, and remediation of quality issues as they arise. Lead teams to maintain high data quality to drive process and systems improvements across the business. Lead a team of data management experts in ensuring the effective management of data, in line with our data management policy framework, to continue to build VM’s data maturity. Provide actionable insights, and specialist advice and guidance to relevant stakeholders in relation to data quality and data management, more generally. This will involve regular interaction with senior business leaders to ensure continued support for the data quality control framework. Provide SME input into Executive and Board reporting. Be responsible for providing senior management with a value-add service, enabling reliance on actionable, high-quality data across the business. Responsible for ensuring processes operated by the team are fit for purpose and compliant with regulatory requirements, and for overseeing the timely resolution of audit actions to address any issues identified. Responsible for tracking and supporting the business units in identifying compliance challenges with the data management framework covering both BAU and change activities. Ensuring progress is in line with business strategic direction. The Person: Extensive experience in a leadership role, managing large scale data management and compliance initiatives Strong understanding of key data management principles and practical application of BCBS 239 requirements Demonstrable experience of delivering successful data privacy, ethics, compliance, governance and quality outcomes. Experience of dealing with UK regulators Strong stakeholder engagement, with demonstrable experience at senior leadership level Capacity to add value to the business through provoking insights and identifying process improvement opportunities. Professional data management certification preferred.
