Job Purpose
You will engage with all aspects of the impact teams’ responsibilities, including assessing the impact of potential deals, and implementation of the Impact and ESG framework at the deal, sector, and portfolio level. You will manage a sector portfolio of work, undertake ex-ante and ex-post assessments, and provide oversight and management to analysts to deliver high-quality research, data and economic assessments and advice, to inform effective evidence-based decisions on specific deals within a sector or market. You will lead on aspects of refreshing our impact framework, including improving relevant metrics for measuring impact and devising our monitoring and evaluation strategy.
1. Support the NWF to achieve its strategic objectives (supporting net zero and regional and local economic growth) – helping implement the NWF’s Impact Framework in relation to both deal assessment, monitoring and evaluation impact of the NWF’s work.
2. Deals impact assessments lead - Serve as one of the impact team’s sector lead for a number of technologies within NWF’s key sectors.
3. Lead the due diligence process for potential lending and equity deals – including producing impact, additionality and ESRG (environmental, social, resilience and governance) analysis to inform decision making by NWF’s Investment Committee.
4. Develop and implement an M&E, learning, and reporting framework to support the NWF’s approach to assessing impact in transactions before (and after) the NWF invests.
5. Supporting strategy workstreams across the NWF – developing communication products of impact’s work.
6. Be a team player and peer-review the analysis and assessment undertaken by other analysts in the function.
7. Manage, engage and develop a high performing team of analysts.
8. Engage with relevant government departments and external experts.
Essential Experience:
* Use and application of economic techniques in appraisal, monitoring and evaluation in a policy and delivery environment.
* Proven ability to work with, influence, and navigate stakeholders including commercial partners, academia or government departments.
* Experience and/or knowledge of infrastructure finance, infrastructure project development.
* High level of proficiency in Excel and statistical packages.
* Line management experience and broader task management experience.

Professional Qualifications:
Must hold a 2:2 degree or above, in a subject with a significant quantitative element, including economics and data analytics or equivalent experience.
