The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team and lead the commercial management of a high-profile refurbishment in Edinburgh. This role will suit a proactive individual able to work autonomously on projects over £80m.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring budgets and costs are effectively managed.
2. Manage procurement processes, including the preparation and analysis of tender documents and appointment of subcontractors.
3. Handle valuations, applications for payment, and subcontractor accounts, ensuring prompt and accurate certification.
4. Monitor and manage project variations and changes, maintaining precise cost records.
5. Produce detailed financial reports, including cost/value reconciliations and forecasts.
6. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
What We're Looking For
1. A degree in Quantity Surveying.
2. Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
3. Exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
4. Proficiency in cost management tools and software.
5. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
