Your new role
You will be joining an organisation based in Solihull on a full-time basis for a 6-month contract.
You will be providing a comprehensive range of IT services for the organisation, encompassing the support, development and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
Duties will include:
1. Provide support for ICT business application systems.
2. Use the Service Desk Management System to pick up, prioritise, respond to, and monitor incident calls from customers.
3. Investigate calls raised, liaising as appropriate with the customer, colleagues from ICT, other colleagues from the business, and with suppliers, to seek a resolution to the call.
4. Provide resolutions to calls to the customer, or workarounds where it is not possible to provide a resolution.
5. Keep the customer updated on progress throughout the call resolution process.
Perform systems administration tasks on the system(s) such as:
1. Access management for users – add, delete or modify user access permissions.
2. Monitoring activities to ensure system performance is optimal.
3. Investigating/recommending configuration changes.
4. Actioning authorised configuration changes to the system(s).
5. Undertaking database refresh/clone/copy activities.
6. Maintaining/updating system documentation.
Implementation/Project activities
To work as part of a project team to support the implementation of new software systems or enhancements - thereof.
To undertake development work as directed, which may include producing or working on integrations, interfaces and reports.
To lead on system upgrades, patches, undertaking tasks as required and liaising with the customer, colleagues from ICT, other colleagues from the business, and with suppliers. Advice ICT and business colleagues alike on the impact of proposed system changes.
Change Management activities
To follow corporate change management procedures and, where applicable, the change management procedures for the systems being worked on.
Team working and procedures
To take part and contribute to team, project and Divisional meetings.
To provide advice and guidance to less experienced and/or non-technical staff where required.
To support other members of the team, taking on tasks as directed.
To support other teams within ICT as required.
To advise and support customers in the business on the use of the business systems supported by the team.
To help maintain system documentation.
To contribute to the ICT planning process and assist with the development of business systems delivery plans.
To ensure work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to have relevant experience within public sector organisations, and be immediately available.
What you'll get in return
This role is offering from £200 per day, paid to you on a weekly basis.
This role is remote working, with the requirement to attend the office for initial training and then 1-3 times a month for meetings. You will have the opportunity to apply for permanent internal roles as well as have support from us in career progression.
