Department: Purchasing & Projects
Reports to: Procurement & Project Manager
Join our team in Whitby as a Project Co-ordinator and play a central role in the coordination of new build and repair projects within a dynamic and growing company.
About the Role:
As a Project Co-ordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting the procurement and delivery of materials, services, and resources for marine construction and repair projects. You will collaborate with our Project Management, Accounts, and Stores teams, ensuring the right materials arrive at the right time, every time.
You’ll be responsible for purchasing, inventory management, project coordination, and supplier negotiation—driving efficiency and quality across the entire supply chain. Experience with ERP systems (particularly Progress Plus) is advantageous, as is familiarity with shipbuilding or heavy industry materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop procurement plans and coordinate with production teams to align with project timelines.
* Place and track orders for materials, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supplier issues.
* Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors — sourcing, onboarding, and maintaining effective relationships.
* Perform cost analysis, support tender preparation, and assist in project estimating.
* Maintain inventory levels in collaboration with Storeman and manage stock through Progress Plus ERP system.
* Attend production meetings and provide regular updates on procurement and project progress.
* Support the Directors in the management of live projects and tender submissions, including preparing reports, estimates, and documentation.
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to multitask across several active projects.
* Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or project coordination preferred (but not essential).
* Comfortable with data analysis, budgeting, and ERP software (Progress Plus knowledge is a bonus).
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail and a drive to improve systems.
* Background in engineering, shipbuilding, or construction sectors beneficial but not required.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a collaborative, close-knit team working on high-impact marine projects.
* Enjoy the opportunity to grow your career within a hands-on, varied role.
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Work in the scenic coastal town of Whitby with a company invested in quality and innovation.
