The role...
We're looking for an experienced Global Statutory Reporting Manager to join our Group Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. We're happy to offer this role on a hybrid basis, and welcome applications from candidates outside of Manchester.
The Global Statutory Accounts Manager is a key role in the Group Finance team ensuring the filing of the statutory accounts in the UK to deadline. The Manager ensures that the accounts are prepared to high quality, supports the statutory audit process and liaises with teams across the business to ensure efficient processing of information. This role owns the global subsidiary financial statement process and project manages the UK financial statements process. You will be working with a number of stakeholders at various levels across a number of locations in our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the global subsidiary financial statement process
* Project manage the UK subsidiary financial statement process with the auditors
* Prepare the financial statement template for use across the UK
* Provide assistance on technical accounting points raised during the stats process
* Provide support and guidance to subsidiary stats preparers
* Review the financial statements for Group companies including companies exempt from audit
* Provide technical accounting guidance on the dissolution of companies as part of the corporate simplification process.
* Manage a small team that prepares the subsidiary financial statements
* Support the Financial Controllers for M&E, Studios and Shared services with workload
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
* 5+ year PQ experience
* ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant
* Preparation of financial statements under IFRS and UK Accounting Standards including FRS 101
* Experience working within a large matrix commercial organisation

* Commercially astute with an inquisitive nature and desire to understand drivers behind the numbers and reports
* Ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
* Strong understanding of the business areas supported
* Willingness and ability to build and develop strong relationships and partnerships internally and externally
* Ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, and to lead discussions with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
* Ability to meet rigorous deadlines and to multitask and prioritise responsibilities
