HR Co-ordinator (Recruitment & Onboarding)
Application Deadline: 13 April 2025
Department: Human Resources
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Birmingham
Reporting To: HR Business Partner (Recruitment & Onboarding)
Compensation: £26,910 / year
Description
Do you want to contribute to driving HR service excellence and delivering an exceptional candidate experience, every time? Come and join the HR Team at Ambition Institute and contribute to our organisational success.
We're looking for a talented individual with experience of administering end to end recruitment processes, to join the team on a permanent basis as HR Co-ordinator (Recruitment and Onboarding). As HR Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the administration of recruitment and onboarding activity, working with the wider HR team to ensure that hand offs are properly completed.
You will support the appropriate HR Business Partners (HR BPs) and hiring managers to plan a recruitment process. You will also ensure that there is an accurate role specification, an appropriate marketing campaign, and a proper on-boarding programme.
We would like you to:
* Be the first point of contact for internal and external recruitment queries.
* Provide administrative support for the recruitment cycle. This includes posting adverts, logistical planning, liaising with agencies when, by exception, Ambition does not use direct marketing, and administration of interviews.
* Support and where necessary train hiring managers on our recruitment processes including our ATS, Pinpoint.
* Deliver an engaging and effective HR Induction for new joiners, using the HR team’s slide pack and briefing material to ensure that new colleagues feel welcomed and valued by Ambition as an employer.
* Support the HR BP (Recruitment) to use recruitment data to identify, communicate and implement potential improvements to improve efficiency and the quality of the user experience.
Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the HR Business Partner (Recruitment & Onboarding). In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days, and this may be reviewed by Ambition.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
To succeed in this role, you'll have a CIPD level 3 or working towards a relevant HR qualification, or equivalent experience. You'll also demonstrate:
* Success in administering end to end recruitment processes, with thorough attention to detail.
* Experience of using a HR system including applicant tracking systems (ATS) to support hiring managers and candidates.
* Experience of onboarding practices including Right to Work checks, DBS checks, and robust referencing, and familiarity with relevant systems for these processes.
* Experience in working in a fast-paced organisation with changing business and operating priorities.
If this has sparked some interest, we would love to hear from you!
What’s in it for you….?
* Competitive annual salary.
* Professional development for all staff.
* 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays and 'winter shut down’ at the end of December/beginning of January.
* Employer pension contribution of 11%.
* Agile, hybrid working culture, so you can manage when and where you work.
* Staff affinity networks that help keep equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of our work.
* Blind recruitment process to ensure equality and fairness in our hiring.
* Enhanced maternity pay after a year’s service.
* Shared parental leave package.
* Access to free, confidential 24/7 wellbeing and support line.
* Comfortable and collaborative workspaces in the city centres of Manchester, Birmingham and London.
* Work-from-home technology package to support hybrid working.
* Interest free season ticket / bike loans.
We don’t expect the person we hire to have all of the following, but this should give you a sense of what would enable you to thrive in this role and in our organisation:
* You care deeply about educational disadvantage and being part of an organisation that challenges inequality.
* You have a good work ethic and strive to make a difference in the job you do.
* You always give maximum effort to understand and meet the needs of our partners and participants.
* You always have a great attitude so we “can do” for all our colleagues, partners and participants.
* You are open to feedback and learning because we want to keep getting better.
* You work with your initiative to bring new ideas and a fresh perspective.
* You are well organised and can prioritise work that will have the greatest impact.
Applications will be accepted for all office locations.
All applications must be received by the closing date 23:59 on 13 April 2025. Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 21 April.
