We are looking for an experienced Emergency Nurses and Paediatric nurses with post registration experience as a Band 5 in Emergency Care. This individual will have a clear track record of enthusiasm, drive and a commitment to improving the experience of people using our services and show that they have worked well as a whole team within the Emergency department which includes both in adult and paediatric areas. The post holder will support the current Emergency Department Senior Nurse and the Senior Sisters in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored and evaluated. You will be someone who has change management skills and demonstrates a high level of commitment to seeing plans through within agreed timescales. You will be a team player and have the skills to rapidly develop effective leadership of an established nursing team. Evidence of recent education is essential and an up-to-date MERIT, ILS and level 1 Trauma training/ ANTCC is highly essential. The post holder will be a clinical expert and will be regularly in charge of specific areas within the Emergency department and on occasions be in charge of the whole department in the absence of the band 7 Senior sister. the post holder will have to work closely with the senior nurse and consultant colleagues to ensure the safety and comfort for our patients. Your duties may include being responsible for tasks such as off duty, managing a small group of staff, attending meetings and handling complaints along with completion of PDR's and sickness management. It is essential you have a special interest that you would like to carry forward as a project to ensure that we are constantly improving. You must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to form productive professional relationships with colleagues. There will be a short presentation required at interview, the subject will be given at the shortlisting stage.
