1. Role Overview
Manage a 2.8-acre shipping container storage and repair facility based in Felixstowe, along with a control team and yard staff. Liaising with customers and staff on prioritising workload, dealing with customer requests, whilst covering all depot operations. Open and effective communication is key at all times.
2. Duties & Key Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
o Work as part of the management team to support the overall achievement of business goals.
o Manage business operations and identify problems, report to management when required.
o Customer focused ensuring all reporting and customer requirements are met.
o Ensure all Health and Safety documents/training are fully up to date and documented, liaising direct with the group SHEQ manager on any issues.
o Ensure all staff are responding to customer requests in a timely manner.
o Complete reports for senior management.
o With support from Management and HR, identify skill gaps and provide appropriate training for team members.
o Recommend cost-reduction initiatives were possible.
o Provide guidance and mentoring to team members, monitoring performance, discipline, timekeeping, and attendance. Ensure Office time sheets are completed correctly including yard staff.
o Identify areas requiring improvement and accordingly develop action plans.
o Ensure the administration of the team in respect of holiday/leave management
Is effectively managed.
