An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Durham County Council based in Seaham. This is a temporary Fostering Social Worker role within the Connected Carers Team.
In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate of up to £32 per hour umbrella, dependent on experience whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Holding a caseload of Foster Carers offering supervision and support
2. Undertaking Core Assessments under Section 20 of the Children's Act of 1989
3. Undertaking Form F Assessments and Viability Assessments
4. Attending family proceedings court
5. Obtaining Interim Care Orders/Interim Supervision Orders and Special Guardianship Orders
6. Producing Child Permanency Reports
7. Preparing looked after children review reports
8. Searching for emergency placements for vulnerable children referred to social services
9. Producing and presenting Annual Review Report of Foster Carers
10. Participating in recruitment drives for foster carers
11. Participating in preparation group training
12. Facilitating support groups for Foster Carers
13. Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
For this position you will need to hold a recognised social work qualification and be Social Care England registered. Furthermore, you will have at least two years post qualifying experience in a statutory childcare setting to support your ability for this role.
