Managing and supervising a number of qualified social workers and other staff, as delegated by the manager within the dedicated team. Supporting the manager to direct, co-ordinate and provide leadership to all staff within the dedicated team Building upon and supporting the manager to improve effective delivery of the five Every Child Matters outcomes for children and families within the dedicated team function. Deputising for the manager as appropriate during time of absence providing management cover and support to operational arrangements within the dedicated team. Specific duties and responsibilities include: To manage, co-ordinate and lead the dedicated team in the absence of line manager. Undertake supervision of specified team members in accordance with the supervision and appraisal policy. Maintain up to date knowledge of all cases and projects held by supervisees. To ensure supervisees work within relevant legislation, guidance and department procedures. To set and monitor standards and performance in line with internal and external indicators with supervisees. As requested and appropriate, allocate work and make judgements in respect of intervention, child protection and closure of cases.
