We invite innovative, inclusive, and culturally responsive trained RTLB or experienced NZ fully registered kaiako who aspire to be an RTLB to join our growing, dynamic, and welcoming team in Canterbury. We value manaakitanga, kotahitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga. Due to cluster growth, we are looking for additional collaborative, positive, and exceptional kaiako or experienced RTLB to empower and support kaiako in our 58 schools.
Successful applicants will have:
1. a commitment to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi
2. culturally responsive and affirming practices that support ākonga Māori and Pacific learners
3. the ability to build effective professional relationships with a wide variety of different people and work alongside kaiako for the benefit of ākonga
4. strong interpersonal skills
5. high-quality inclusive practices and a belief in quality education for all, with understanding around Universal Design for Learning and neuro-inclusive practices advantageous
6. the ability to work flexibly, be creative, and have a desire to learn new skills
7. knowledge of tikanga Māori and ability to speak te reo Māori an advantage
8. leadership experience and expertise in working collaboratively
9. recent classroom experience with a proven ability to deliver core curriculum areas
10. demonstrate exceptional classroom and behaviour management and a genuine desire to improve outcomes for all ākonga
11. the ability to work across Years 0-10 and must have a full NZ teacher registration and current NZ practising certificate
You need to have the prerequisite qualifications and a willingness to undertake the postgraduate RTLB study within 48 months of appointment. A current full driver’s licence and own vehicle is required.
