About The Role
Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of housing investment? Join LiveWest as a Planning and Technical Manager and lead strategic planning and technical initiatives for our extensive asset investment programmes. As part of our Asset Investment directorate, you'll work closely with internal teams, contractors and consultants to ensure our projects meet high standards, align with our corporate goals, and contribute to our mission of delivering safe, sustainable and energy-efficient homes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Risk Management:Identify, manage and mitigate technical and planning risks in investment programmes.
* Planning Applications:Oversee timely planning submissions to meet programme timelines and business objectives.
* Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with external consultants, local authorities and infrastructure providers to ensure smooth project execution, and necessary approvals.
* Technical Support:Provide expert advise on evolving legislation, constructions practices, and environmental standards, particularly in line with our Net Zero Carbon goals.
* Continuous Improvement:Drive best practices and support our commitment to ongoing development and operational excellence.
This role is being offered as a full time, permanent opportunity and will be based in either our Exeter or Weston-super-Mare office. Hybrid working with 2 3 days per week in the office, down to business need is available.

About The Candidate
To be considered for the role of Planning and Technical Manager, you will meet the essential skills, knowledge and experience for a Level 3 role (please see our candidate information pack), plus the following specific skills and experience:
* Significant post qualification experience within a housing, construction, property or development environment.
* Extensive experience in a residential housebuilder, contract, or Registered Provider of affordable housing, within a technical and/or planning capacity.
* Experience of negotiation and an understanding of development and planning processes including S106 agreements.
* Ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications:
* Relevant technical or planning qualifications, and an ongoing commitment to professional development.
