Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Systemic Family Therapist within the Looked After Children & Leaving Care Team to work full time based in Bexley.
The salary for this permanent Systemic Family Therapist job is up to £52,698 per annum.
Main duties:
* Lead on embedding a systemic family approach within the Looked After Children and Leaving Care Service and align with the Signs of Safety Practice Model for Social Care.
* Effectively assess presenting difficulties of children and family’s relationship breakdown and make recommendations for interventions (where needed) and provide evidence-based intervention.
* Provide specialist advice and consultation regarding diagnosis and intervention to colleagues and external agencies, working autonomously within professional guidelines and within a team, contributing to overall service delivery as required.
* Contribute to the development, implementation, and audit of services for families with children presenting to the service.
* Provide a specialist assessment of referrals of a significant and complex nature in order to formulate and implement plans for the intervention to support parents and young people.
* Work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
* Provide specialist systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy drawing on a range of models and wherever possible brief interventions. Practice in a way which is inclusive and considerate of the needs of each individual family member, in their carrying developmental stages and current emotional state.
* Make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about intervention options considering highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the child, family or group, and their difficulties.
* Maintain current knowledge of the operation of video equipment and promote ethical and effective use in line with directorate policy.
* Work in accordance with team objectives by adhering to social care and Directorate policies, including risk assessment in all work, ensuring intervention plans are in place, recording up to date attending and contributing a systemic view in case discussion and team meetings.
* Maintain up to date and accurate record keeping.
* Keep under review and develop the structures, procedures and working methods for which the post holder is responsible to ensure an integrated, effective and efficient approach to the delivery of service.
* Establish and develop effective working relationships and productive partnerships with all the relevant partners, including those in e.g. education, health, social services, independent and voluntary sectors.
Requirements of this role:
* Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
* Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
* Experience of community and/or group work.
* Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
