Associate Tendering Engineer
Location - Newcastle
Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Role Overview
The role will require contact with clients and sub-contractors and requires the combination of technical insight and commercial awareness. Working within the Tender Team to contribute to sales of systems by preparation of Tender Documents.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Development of proposals with the assistance of Chief Engineers/System Engineers & Sales Managers / KAMs.
2. Preparation of Pre-Qualification and Tender documents for the supply of equipment and service.
3. Accurate preparation of Excel/IFS costings and conversion to customer price guides.
4. Assessing and understanding technical requirements through liaison with internal design engineers, external consultants, customers and sales and business stream manager as necessary.
5. Participating in technical and commercial reviews of tenders prior to submission.
6. Liaising with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure accuracy in costing and latest technology.
7. Build an in-depth technical knowledge of offshore equipment and service.
8. Liaise with the Commercial Team for contractual requirements for inquiries.
9. General Tender Team Administration.
Skills/Qualifications
1. Qualified to HND / Degree level in an Engineering / Computer Science / Technical background.
2. Technical sales or tendering experience (desirable).
3. High proficiency in Excel, Word and other Office Applications.
4. Proficient in ERP systems.
5. Good communication & presentation/writing skills.
6. Customer empathy to understand and translate requirements into compelling offers.
7. Excellent organizational skills with speed and attention to detail and able to work to demanding deadlines.
