The Senior Buyer will fulfil an important role in the S upply C hain M anagement (SCM) team in support ing the delivery of commercial projects in Ocean Infinity. A cting as the procurement single point of contact and working in partnership with internal stakeholders such as our project managers within the service delivery team, t he Senior Buyer will support the planning, deployment and operation of all commercial projects by coordinating the sourcing and delivery of all required procurement. The Senior Buyer will call upon the specialist services of the category experts in the procurement team leading on vessel, payload, IT an d professional services procurement. The Senior Buyer will also support the procurement and wider SCM function with their knowledge, experience and expertise to help de velop and implementing supply chain management strategy, procurement strategy, policies and procedures, governance and compliance. What you will do: Support the Head of SCM and Procurement Lead in designing and implementing the supply chain management strategy in line with OI’s strategic objectives and help develop the tools with which to deliver on that strategy, such as setting procurement aims/objectives and developing policies and procedures; Support the procurement team in areas such as project or category strategy, contract management, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, strategic supplier relationship management and category management; Support i nternal stakeholders in projects with demand planning, requirements specification, supplier selection, bid evaluation, contract drafting and negotiat ion, contract award, contract management and close-out; Support the procurement team with commercial governance and contract compli a nce, including Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) and supplier audits; Support the P rocurement Lead in delivering on agreed targets, service delivery, and reporting; Support the p rocurement team in fostering strong partnerships with other departments; Support Buyers with advice on procurement matters such as sourcing approaches, evaluating bids, developing and managing contracts, conducting negotiations or managing supplier relationships. Champion the value and benefits of the new SCM function at OI and work with stakeholders to adapt to new ways of working in support of the strategic aims; Work proactively on driving best value for money from all third party spend, including cost reductions and non-price benefits such as improved product or service performance, contrac tual terms, schedule, quality and safety; Advise internal stakeholders the procurement process and provide support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle; Lead on global strategic sourcing projects; Develop and track measures or indicators to manage supplier performance and contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to drive continuous improve ment; Coach, mentor and guide procurement team members to share knowledge and experience to maximise team performance and development. Who you are: CIPS membership/qualified (or equivalent), or willing to work towards through structured CPD; Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role or demonstrable transferable skills and experience; Experience of leading teams, managing workload and delegation, coaching, mentoring and developing others. Within procurement or an equivalent environment; Understanding of procurement strategy, best practice, tools, processes and policies; Experience at various stages the procurement lifecycle: helping identify business needs, selecting and pre-qualifying/assessing suppliers, setting procurement strategy, tendering, bid evaluation, drafting contracts, commercial negotiations, making award recommendations, contract administration/management and close-out; Experience with procurement and supply chain software and operational tracking tools; Able to drive cross-department collaboration; Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work; Integrity, credibility and maturity for confidential issues; Critical thinking and ability to show initiative; Open and receptive to new and different ideas; Desirable: Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business, commercial or management subject; Business, project management, legal, leadership or other relevant qualifications/certifications; Knowledge of various categories of procurement (e.g. IT, professional services) and category management approaches; Familiarity with various forms of contract for good and services, master frameworks or service level agreements; Experience in supplier relationship management and supplier performance management; Familiarity with spend and supplier data collection, analysis and reporting. Salary for this position: Up to £50,000 per annum Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
