You will have a very varied caseload and will work within several MDTs providing support to both inpatients and outpatients. We are looking for someone who is proactive and has the initiative to develop and / or improve the efficiency of services. You will be involved in delivering education sessions to healthcare professionals and patients as well as assisting in the coordinating of the nutrition strategy across the Trust., The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and smooth delivery of the general inpatient and outpatient service at The Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH). This will include both oral and enteral nutrition support. Other key features of this varied job include coordinating the nutrition strategy across the Trust.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Medical dietetic team, taking the lead for the dietetic management of stroke patients and sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the service in line with Trust performance targets. They will provide specialist dietetic support to individuals admitted to the stroke unit, as well as other medical and surgical patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The post holder will have an active role in teaching other professionals, including students and patients, and support the supervision of junior staff. Monitoring and actively improving nutritional care across the Trust will be a key feature of the post. A considerate, patient focussed service will be provided in all dealings with patients and with staff around the hospital.

If you have some clinical experience and want to be able to further develop this in an acute medical setting as well having the opportunity to start developing your skills with service development and support the supervision of Band 5 Dietitians and students, then this post will be well suited for you.
You will join a forward thinking dietetic team which undertakes the training of A, B and C placement students, and also focuses on research and audit in its areas of activity to promote clinical effectiveness in patient care. This is an excellent opportunity in a supportive environment where you will be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, with the chance to shadow and learn from the other specialist dietetic teams.
