Job Responsibilities Strategic Management and Planning The post holder will Support the Partners and contribute to the development of the overall business strategy. Help to identify opportunities and initiatives for future practice development. Support the monitoring and evaluation of areas of practice performance against agreed objectives. Support the effective management of change across all sites. Implement sound Governance and Delegation of Authority controls. Financial Management Support the Partners and the Practice Manager, to ensure the practice receives an appropriate and equitable allocation of resources, monitoring funding through the GMS contract and enhanced services. Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations such as invoicing, payroll and other transactions. Liaise, when necessary, with the practice accountants. Prepare monthly financial reports for the Partners in liaison with the Practice Manager. Provide information to the Practice Manager on financial forecasting and cash flow. Review and develop policies and procedures relating to Financial Management Implement systems of audit and control to maximise profitability and manage financial risk. Support the Partners, Practice Manager, and other Department Managers/Leads in the preparation of an annual budget and team budgets. Payroll Responsible for ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsible for collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information in readiness for the monthly submission to our external payroll provider. Assist with processing monthly payroll payments to employees and relevant HMRC/Pension bodies. Responsible for processing payroll journal onto finance system. Liaise with external payroll provider. Responsible for maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures. Deal with employee payroll queries. Any other payroll duties as required by the business. Data Security To provide oversight and support for effective data control and information management on the Finance system and Payroll records in line with GDPR. Ensure adherence to the GDPR, Data Protection act and the Practices Confidentiality Policy. Health and Safety Ensure the Practice policies are understood and observed and that procedures are followed. Ensure the appropriate use of equipment and facilities and ensure the environment is maintained in good order. Take the necessary precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of oneself and others in accordance with the Health and Safety at work act. General Other duties/holiday cover that may be required appropriate to the level and nature of the post. Responsibility for the creation and updating of procedures notes for all tasks within the role. Proactively work to review process and implement improvements where possible. To be proficient at prioritising and organising workload Contribute to own supervision, development, and appraisal systems in line with Practice requirements. To undertake any training deemed as necessary to carry out the full requirements of the post. The Partners of the Practice retain the right to amend the Job Description in consultation with the post holder and any agreed changes will be notified in writing within a month of any agreement. To liaise with patients, the public and other professionals as necessary. This post carries no line management or budgetary responsibilities.
