Description Job Description Do you have excellent planning and organisational skills? The Directorate is part of DG Health and Social Care (DGHSC) and consists of three Divisions. The Director is responsible for the financial strategy and management of a £19.5 billion budget that covers all NHS Boards in Scotland as well as all Directorates within DGHSC. The role also requires the post holder to have working relationships across all grades of staff, including the five Division Heads in the Directorate, and the post-holder is required to develop thorough knowledge of the work of each Division in the Directorate. In addition, there will be regular engagement with colleagues outwith the Directorate, including the DGHSC Office, other Health Directorates, Ministerial Private Offices and NHS Boards across Scotland. There will be a degree of flexibility in the advertised role, in terms of objectives, given the fluidity and changing priorities of the team to meet needs of Scottish Government and NHS Boards. Responsibilities Acting as the Director of Health and Social Care Finance’s PA by continuously supporting the Director daily. Working closely with other Directors’ offices within the DG Health and Social Care family, and with colleagues across the offices of senior staff within NHS Scotland. Reviewing and suggesting changes to the Director’s office current processes to maximise the Director’s available working time, as well as challenging actions / methods of working in a constructive manner. Managing the Director’s mailbox and correspondence; review all incoming emails deciding which are required to be forwarded to others, either for awareness or action. Leading on the programme management approach across 3 divisions, ensuring deliverables are clear and owners throughout the FDU meet deadlines. Reviewing processes within the Division to make improvements and efficiencies to working practices. Experience Excellent planning and organisational skills, including managing competing priorities and tasks. Proven and demonstrable track record in providing support to deliver within a project or programme environment. Location This post can be based in Edinburgh/Glasgow, but we follow a hybrid working approach aligned with SG policy.
