The Fire Industry can be fast paced and demanding. On occasion you may be required to work away from home on projects around the UK. This apprenticeship may also have unsociable hours of work due to the nature of the business.
Being or becoming a driver is an essential part of being an engineer, should you join our apprenticeship programme and be learning to drive you will need to hold a valid driving license within your second year.
The training you will be getting
The Advanced Apprenticeship is delivered over 3 years. Apprentices are required to attend college on block release to complete underpinning knowledge studies towards the qualification.
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) is delivered and assessed externally once all other criteria of the apprenticeship is achieved.
Apprentices are required to spend a minimum of 6 hours per week of their employed hours on off-the-job learning.
This has to be structured and evidence will need to be provided. Once you have successfully completed the End Point Assessment, you will be a qualified Fire, Emergency & Security Systems technician.
This apprenticeship aligns with The Institute of Engineering and Technology for Engineering Technician (EngTech).
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
On successful completion of the FESS Apprenticeship, we aim to offer a full-time position as a qualified engineer within our company in the Service, Small Works or Commissioning Department at what we believe to be market competitive pay scales.
