Job Description:
Your purpose:
1. Balance risk, opportunity, and financial returns in both pre- and post- contract commercial management.
2. Lead on delivery excellence and in year performance (revenue, cash, and EBIT) as well as supporting growth in the market.
3. Provide oversight and commercial advice for preparation and negotiation of contract documentation.
4. Interrogate and drive production of monthly PSR (CVR) and associated commercial reports such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
5. Develop and implement the commercial strategy on projects to maximise revenue and cash flow.
6. Set the standard and expectations for change control, contract management and claims/disputes.
7. Guide project teams on commercial risks and opportunities.
8. Interpret/input into contract programmes and schedules to identify associated risks and utilise commercial levers.
9. Mentor and manage more junior members of the commercial team and promote regular visibility across offices and sites, where teams are based.
10. Ensure compliance with the Company Management System (CMS) and procedures, uphold company values and promote safety culture.
11. Contribute to wider market and divisional requirements as they arise.
12. Manage multiple internal and external stakeholders within project and business deadlines.
What you can bring:
1. Track record of successful project delivery in a commercial management role, in either main contractor or consultancy environment.
2. Expert in contract management and change control.
3. Experience across a range of common Forms of Contract (particularly, expertise in NEC & NEC PSC).
4. Ability to develop and implement procurement, supply chain and market management initiatives such as procurement strategies and alliance agreements.
5. Understanding of procurement law and regulations.
6. Able to demonstrate leadership in solving problems and tackling challenges creatively.
7. Excellent analytical skills and consistent attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication including report writing, presentations and contractual correspondence.
9. Experience of leading and motivating a team within a large-scale business/project environment.
