Job Description
Salary: £43,750 - c.£54,650 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As a Supply Chain Manager at HS2, you will deliver the development, implementation, and communication of supply chain activities, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors and partners to manage capacity for common supply chains, deliver market intelligence, facilitate coordinated contractor procurement, and joint supplier development.
About the role:
1. Manage the respective SCM portfolio, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors.
2. Develop and implement a coordinated supply chain engagement strategy.
3. Undertake capability and capacity analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks in the marketplace.
4. Promote a culture of building excellent supply chain relationships.
5. Lead 'deep dive' supply chain analyses relating to critical categories of spend or commodities.
6. Lead meetings, workshops, and engagement events required to support SCM delivery.
7. Support with timely and accurate reporting in accordance with SCM programme governance.
8. Work with other members of the Procurement & Supply Chain Directorate team where cross working is needed.
About You:
Skills:
* Analytical, commercial, and negotiating skills.
* Ability to produce and present documents and reports to various audiences.
* Stakeholder management skills to establish and develop effective strategic relationships.
* Ability to engage with both awarded and potential supply chain and related industry bodies.
* Project management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or equivalent.
* Ability to manage meeting calendars and coordinate workshops/events.
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of government initiatives, policies, and best practices relevant to SCM.
* Understanding of the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle.
* Understanding of systems and reporting applications including procurement and commercial tools.
* Knowledge of applicable UK procurement legislation.
* Knowledge of different procurement routes.
* Understanding of project scheduling, planning, and project management techniques.
Type of experience:
* Experience of complex projects and analysing micro and macro sector developments.
* Experience of developing and implementing a supplier or stakeholder engagement programme.
* Experience of establishing and leading projects end-to-end.
