Financial Accounting Manager
Location: Spalding
Salary: up to £55,000 per annum
Our client is recruiting for a Financial Accounting Manager to join a thriving, award winning business.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee all aspects of Financial Accounts, Financial Control and Internal/External reporting, ensuring they comply with internal policies, reporting standards and statutory requirements. Managing a small team, you will support and challenge the business to continually ensure that its objectives and activities align with financial goals and other targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Control: Manage and maintain the finance system to ensure the timely completion of all internal and external reporting requirements with particular focus on the balance sheet and cash flow statements. Also ensure all financial controls and policies are applied correctly and consistently.
2. Financial Control and Policy: To monitor, maintain and improve finance controls and procedures and own the finance policies for the business.
3. Cash Management/Foreign Currency Management: Optimise cash for the business by maintaining an accurate cashflow forecast whilst managing sales ledger, purchase ledger and other cash inflows and outflows. Also manage foreign currency hedging in-line with hedging policy with foreign currency providers.
4. Banking/Tax/Other External: Be the external contact for day-to-day banking, customer and supplier financial queries, VAT returns, R&D claims and completing government returns.
5. Budget and Forecasting: Generate a balance sheet and cashflow forecast for the budget process and support ad-hoc financial modelling as required.
6. KPI Management: Manage and monitor key performance indicators and report performance against these on a monthly basis with commentary.
7. Audit: Be the main point of contact for appointed accountancy firm and auditor, manage audit timetable and process and follow-up close-out actions.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvement and innovation and drive change where opportunities exist.
9. Business Systems and Processes: Maintain existing systems and identify opportunities for both business system solutions and business process improvements to improve performance/efficiency.
10. People Management: Lead, coach, develop and inspire a small team to achieve personal development goals and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified / Part Qualified
Strong Financial Management knowledge from any environment.
