About the Role: An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Simulator Operator within the DIL Simulation Group, reporting to the Lead Performance and Simulation Engineer. Key Accountabilities (Duties): Operate the Formula One Driver In the Loop Simulator, supporting the Engineering teams to ensure the Simulator test programme is adhered to and completed. Support and contribute to the development of the Simulator, putting in place improvements to the hardware and testing process to maximise efficiency, quality and robustness of the facility. Carry out hardware and software updates, ensuring that the Simulator is an accurate representation of the physical car. Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of the Simulator hardware to guarantee consistent long-term operation. Maintain and update the service schedule, standard operating procedures and test records, keeping high standards of housekeeping. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Candidate Profile Essential: Strong academic and practical background with a Mechanical. Electrical Engineering or Controls Degree (2:1 minimum grade) or similar. Familiarity and understanding of highly integrated mechanical systems. High level of computer literacy and willingness to learn new computing programmes. Motivated and conscientious individual, prepared to take on growing responsibility. Ability to work independently or within a team whilst adhering to strict deadlines. Flexibility with respect to working hours and comfortable with a changeable schedule. Desirable: Experience using System Monitor and ATLAS would be of benefit.
