Who You Are You possess a Professional Social Work qualification, such as a MA/Degree in Social Work or equivalent. You have a good understanding of equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice. Knowledge and understanding of the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014 is essential. For children's services roles, you understand the law relating to children and families, and child and adolescent development. For adult social work roles, knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act, as well as understanding the needs of carers, is required. Welsh Language Level 2 to Level 5 is desirable, with at least Level 1 required. Experience in children’s or adult social work posts is desirable. Your competencies include working with partners, teamwork, effective communication, prioritizing service user's best interests, adapting to change, achieving results, and encouraging professional development. Special conditions include the requirement to travel independently, enhanced Disclosure and Barring checks, responsibility for continued registration with Social Care Wales, and a family supportive work approach. What the Job Involves Safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people, and adults through high-quality Social Work practice. Engaging in partnership work with various organisations to deliver services effectively. Conducting assessments, interventions, care planning, and reviews in compliance with social services policies. Listening to the views of service users and considering their capacity to make informed decisions. Completing and updating written records and reports as required. Undertaking mental capacity assessments where applicable. Maintaining professional standards and contributing to service review and development. Promoting social inclusion and working collaboratively with other agencies. Managing a defined caseload with support from experienced management teams both strategically and operationally. Engaging in continuous professional development through available training opportunities. Participating in routines like case recording, planning and managing care plans, and safeguarding procedures. Exploring and negotiating resources to meet outcomes in collaboration with service providers and agencies.
