Job Title: Manager\nLocation: Sheffield\nSalary: £45,000 to £48,000 depending on experience\nJob Type: Full-time, Permanent\nStart Date: To be agreed. An induction programme is available, to commence by 1 September 2025 at the latest.\nSheffield Local Medical Committee (LMC) is the representative body for general practice in Sheffield.\nDue to the upcoming retirement of our current Manager, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and an ability to work under pressure and flexibly to ensure the smooth operation of the LMC office, completing key projects within their remit and supporting the LMC Executive to deliver the functions of the LMC.\nPrevious management experience is essential.
Whilst previous NHS experience would be an advantage, it is not essential provided transferable and relevant skills from other sectors can be demonstrated.\nKey responsibilities\nOffice management:\n * Work closely with the Administrator to ensure productive and efficient working environment and office equipment.\n * Prioritise workload and oversee Administrator's workload, covering their duties when required.\nHuman Resources:\n * Oversee recruitment, induction and training of new staff.\n * Manage holiday rotas.\n * Maintain accurate records and policies to comply with current legislation.\nFinancial Management, working closely with the Accountable Finance Officer:\n * Day to day office finance ensuring bills are paid and supplies are ordered.\n * Managing payroll for Secretariat and Executive.\n * Liaise with LMC accountants for year-end accounts.\nMeetings:\n * Attend and prepare for weekly Executive meetings, monthly Committee meetings and ad hoc city-wide meetings when required.\nPersonal Specification\nSkills and knowledge:\n * Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.\n * Good understanding of general practice, primary care and data protection.\nExperience:\n * Experience in management role, including motivating and co-ordinating team members.\n * Managing fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines.\nPersonal attributes:\n * Enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated and confident.\n * Professionalism within the organisation and in dealings with external partners.\nSpecial requirements:\n * Key holder access to premises and ensuring they are secure.\n * Available for monthly Committee meetings one Monday evening per month.\nPlease click the APPLY button to be redirected to the application page where you're encouraged to submit a CV, Covering Letter and complete a few questions.\nFurther information will be available once you are redirected including more information on the LMC, the full job description and personal spec.\nCandidates with the relevant experience or job titles of: Finance Manager, Office Manager, Operations Manager, HR Manager, Administration Manager, Practice Manager, Head of Operations, Workforce Manager, NHS Manager, Unit Manager, Primary Care Manager, Home Manager, Registered Manager may also be considered for this role
