Brake Press Operator (Late Shift) Location: Leighton Buzzard ⏳ Contract: 6 months Rate: £28.80 PAYE Overtime Rates Shift: Monday - Thursday 15:00-00:00, Friday 12:00-17:00 Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Brake Press Operator. This role involves fabricating high-precision components from aluminum and steel sheets, tubing, and extrusions, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Key Responsibilities ✅ Brake Press Operation & Fabrication Operate Brake Press machines to form and shape components to exact specifications. Work with other fabrication machinery, including Trumpf, Cut-off Saws, Guillotine, Hydraulic Press, Bandsaws, Spot-Welding Machines, and Manual Mill/Drill. Read and interpret engineering drawings with accuracy. Perform light assembly work and operate all machines within the cell.✅ Quality & Compliance Ensure all work meets strict aerospace manufacturing standards. Conduct inspections using precision instruments such as Verniers, Micrometers, and Height Gauges. Maintain traceability of all components and report any defects immediately.✅ Health & Safety Follow all company health and safety policies. Maintain a safe working environment and demonstrate a strong duty of care.✅ Continuous Improvement & Maintenance Support process improvements and assist in developing standard work instructions. Perform basic maintenance on shop floor machinery (TPM). Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S principles). Required Skills & Experience Essential: Proven experience operating Brake Press machinery. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Strong problem-solving skills within a fabrication environment. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Preferred: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent). Full UK driving licence (advantageous).
