Oaklands Global are currently looking to recruit a Site Head of Manufacturing Engineering for a reputable client. The reporting will be reporting to Site Directors & ME Director Serial Production.
As a key member of the site leadership team, the relevant individual will be accountable for delivering cutting-edge Manufacturing Engineering solutions in line with the site's overall strategy. This role includes driving the Zero-Defect culture, utilising the Zero-Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to achieve industry-leading quality standards, and ensuring on-time delivery. They will also be responsible for meeting year-on-year conversion cost productivity targets in collaboration with senior leadership.
Key Accountabilities
* Foster a safety-first mindset by ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team within Manufacturing Engineering, including Facilities & Maintenance, ensuring high performance and driving continuous improvement across operations.
* Take full budgetary ownership of the site’s Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance teams, with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing costs.
* Deliver annual quality improvement and cost productivity targets, contributing to the site’s overall operational success.
* Instill the Zero-Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) mindset, embedding standard ZDM tools to drive quality and efficiency improvements across the site.
* Build strong relationships with Program teams, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and program requirements.
* Continuously improve and sustain manufacturing engineering systems to meet business objectives.
Key Person Specification:
Essential:
* Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 5 years' experience leading Manufacturing Engineering teams, managing New Product Introduction (NPI), and driving process improvements.
* Proven ability to implement and manage LEAN practices in manufacturing environments.
* Experience with quality systems such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and experienced in working within a global organisation.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, mentor, and build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable:
* Experience in Project/Program Management.
* Familiarity with APQP or equivalent processes.
* Advanced Business degree is a plus.
* Occasional domestic and international travel.
