Job summary An exciting 12 month opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Clinical, Counselling or Health psychologist to join the General Medicine Psychology team within the department of Clinical Health Psychology Department at Salford Royal Hospital. The post would be ideal for a psychologist looking to gain experience across a diverse range of medical specialties. 37.5 hours per week (12 Month Contract) Band 7 / 8a. Hybrid working is encouraged with the post-holder splitting the week between working from home and attending the hospital base in Salford. Main duties of the job The Post holder will: Contribute to the provision and development of specialist psychological care provided to adults with chronic or acute physical health problems across a wide range of health conditions (e.g. dermatology, diabetes, oncology, rheumatology, immunology, cardiology, etc). We can offer you excellent peer support and supervision within the general medicine team and as part of the wider department which is shared between the clinical health psychology and neuropsychology teams. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A commitment to provision of evidence-based health care is essential. An understanding of the psychological factors influencing physical health and delivery of health care would be desirable.
