Step into the future of rail with DigitalTrains. We’re looking for a sharp, curious, and technically-minded Graduate Engineering Analyst to join our growing DigitalTrains team in Coventry. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with code, and applying core engineering principles to real-world challenges, this role is for you. What is DigitalTrains™? DigitalTrains™ is a powerful simulation platform that enables users to build and assess virtual representations of trains and rail networks. It supports collaborative, model-driven engineering—combining data, expertise, and simulation to make smarter decisions early in a project. Outputs include animations, technical reports, graphical displays, and data sheets—helping teams visualise and validate operational scenarios in detail. What You'll Do Collaborate with engineers, mathematicians, and developers as part of the train dynamics and simulation team Help develop new features for both our cloud-based platform and its desktop companion Apply software development skills to address real-world engineering challenges Use maths, physics, and simulation tools to design, test, and refine solutions for rail performance Write and run unit tests or simulations to ensure functionality and reliability Troubleshoot issues and help maintain performance across both platforms Work closely with web developers to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly experience What We're Looking For We’re open to diverse backgrounds, especially those with strengths in: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and model development Programming (any language, with willingness to pick up new ones) Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus You don’t need to be a software engineer—but you should be comfortable writing and reasoning about code, and excited to use it as a tool to solve engineering problems. Why Join Us? You’ll be part of a collaborative, research-driven team that’s pushing the boundaries of digital railway simulation. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both software and engineering, with exposure to cutting-edge tools and real-world applications. Ready to jump on board?
