Queens Park Surgery in Bedford has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours per week. The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone. The main responsibilities of the role include: Greet and direct all patients to the practice. Answer all calls, ensuring documented and redirected accordingly. Book in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitors procedures. Book, amend and cancel patient appointments. Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly. Ensure computerised appointment system is up-to-date. Set-up of new patients onto the computer system (SystmOne). About the Candidate The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent organisational skills, and has the following qualifications, skills and experience: Good standard of education, including Maths & English. IT skills, competent on systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. GP practice experience desirable. Previous reception or customer service experience. NVQ Customer Service qualification an advantage. Able to work to deadlines, in a busy environment.
