Our Assurance Services (AS) Division is a global leader in the independent and impartial certification of management systems, products, services and processes, and the delivery of training to maximize the benefits of standards.
The Global Quality and Compliance Director will be responsible for setting the Quality, Compliance, and Technical system and framework for the AS, ensuring it meets business, accreditation, and technical requirements.
Reporting directly to the COO of the AS, this role will focus on driving the development, maintenance, and enforcement of global quality, technical, and governance frameworks, including relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements, working closely with Regional SVPs, Business Lines Leaders, support functions, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
* Accreditation Management: lead and manage the AS’s accreditation strategy across relevant regulatory agencies; ensure compliance with accreditation standards and lead audits, inspections and assessments; develop & implement strategies to maintain & improve accreditation status; lead AS’s engagement and collaboration with other divisions on issues relating to compliance & risk, managing impartiality and the deployment of tools & processes.
* Compliance Management: direct the development and execution of the internal audit and oversight programmes; coordinate the development of internal policies, controls, and procedures, implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks and ensure continuous improvement to ensure we stay current and in compliance.
* Quality Assurance and Management: lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of AS’s Business Management System (BMS); oversee quality control processes, implement quality metrics through reporting and documentation and conduct root cause analysis to ensure that all products and services comply with accreditation standards and resolve any quality issues efficiently with various parties.
To be successful in the role, you have:
* Min. 10 years of experience in global accreditation, compliance, technical management, and/or regulatory affairs, with a proven track record in navigating complex, high-pressure situations while maintaining a strategic perspective and driving strategic initiatives.
* Experience in managing technical standards across multiple sectors and domains (e.g., manufacturing, Automotive, ICT, Food, healthcare, Sustainability, etc.), with strong background in working with international regulatory bodies and managing compliance for a global organization.
* In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks (accreditation bodies e.g. UKAS, ANAB, IATF) and industry standards (e.g. ISO, IEC, ANSI), with a degree in Engineering, Business or relevant fields. MBA/MSc in relevant fields will be advantageous.
* Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. International experience working in multiple geographies will be beneficial.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a detail-oriented approach to managing compliance and technical challenges.
