The VWS NI Medical Services Manager is a critical full time role that assures, manages and facilitates the delivery of critical Physiotherapy, Psychiatric and Psychological related medical contracts to clients across NI - and in the Republic of Ireland as applicable. It requires the incumbent to work closely with Defence Commercial, Defence Business Services (Armed Forces & Veterans Services) - and with VWS NI staffs, including through the use of the VWCS Caswork System and in support of the medical contract related referrals process for clients - and the recording on the associated medical database. In additon, the role will support and deliver HQ VWS NI HR/operational outputs as part of the wider management team responsibilities - and engage in key veteran-focused meetings/fora with statutory and third sector colleagues as required. The role brings with it a need for periodic travel and overnight stays as appropriate.
Specifics As HEO (Medical Services Manager) VWS NI, you will be responsible for:
Facilitating, assuring, enabling, measuring and managing - on behalf of VS / VWS NI - critical (security cleared) medical contracts in support of delivering mental health and physiotherapy services to the NI and RoI veterans’ community within appropriate eligibility parameters
Managing an extensive network of supporting stakeholders in support of the delivery of the Medical Service including understanding, appreciating and communicating the needs of tri-Service veterans, encompassing UDR and R IRISH Home Service veterans
Analysing all Management Information of the medical support provided to veterans’ and their dependants where applicable to determine trends and need - including to help shape future planning
Preparing the Medical Service delivery E2E process for external review at any stage incluidng audits
Securing and maintaining the trust of veterans in the provision of the Medical Services to meet their needs - and engage proactively with key stakeholders in support of this, including (critically) with VWS NI Welfare Staffs more widely to make the intervention pathways coherent and smooth as possible
Using all appropriate Veterans Services MI/IT systems - including VWCS - in support of all client outputs and working coherently with the wider VWS NI Welfare Managers and Field Teams
Maintaining and populating a key medical database and all associated processes used in support of veterans who undertake contracted medical services - and ensuring all aspects are consistently up to date
Proactively engaging as part of the pan VWS NI management team in support of wider HR & operational outputs/taskings - as well as external engagement in Statutory and Third Sector settings - as required/directed
Representing VWS NI from a Medical Services perspective at Conferences on related specialist subjects
