Background
We are a leading law firm operating across Wales and England, seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of IT to lead and enhance our IT function. This critical role will support a team that serves approximately 750 members of staff, ensuring the smooth implementation of our existing IT strategy. The successful candidate will be pivotal in managing day-to-day IT operations, maintaining high standards of IT service delivery, and safeguarding our IT infrastructure.
The role
* Strategy Implementation: Execute and oversee the existing IT strategy in alignment with the firm's goals, ensuring effective and timely delivery of IT projects.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including the Service Desk, Training, and IT Security & Operations teams. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
* Service Desk Management: Ensure the service desk operates efficiently, providing outstanding support to all staff members across multiple offices.
* Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of IT services, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with established SLAs. Implement best practices for IT service management and continuous improvement.
* Infrastructure and Operations: Lead IT infrastructure initiatives to ensure robust and reliable systems. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and manage operational risks effectively.
* IT Training Management: Lead the IT Training team to develop and deliver effective training programs that enhance staff digital skills across the firm. Ensure training initiatives are aligned with business needs, focusing on the adoption of new technologies and improved productivity. Monitor training outcomes and continuously improve training content to meet evolving needs.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to understand and address IT needs. Communicate IT developments and initiatives effectively across the organization.
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a senior IT management role, ideally within the legal sector or a professional services environment.
* Strong understanding of IT service management, IT infrastructure, and operations management.
* Demonstrated ability to implement IT strategies and lead large-scale IT projects.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
