About the role
In the role of Process Safety Consultant, you will support the delivery of high hazard safety and risk management studies to support our client’s consulting business in Ireland and UK and support the global consulting business as required. Responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering best-in-class project work and deliverables for their clients
2. Conducting hazardous area classification studies for gas, vapour and dust
3. Providing guidance and issuing pragmatic recommendations to eliminate and mitigate the risk of explosions and fires
4. Modelling the frequency and development of accidents
5. Modelling the consequence of accidents
6. Assist with the facilitation of HAZID/ HAZOP workshops
7. Answering technical safety queries and assisting clients with a wide range of safety issues
8. Ventilation, Dispersion and Explosion Modelling using the company CFD tool, FLACS-CFD
9. Help develop and maintain commercial relationships with clients
10. Proactively contribute to generating leads, opportunities and projects for the Consulting Department
About you
To be successful for the role of Process Safety Consultant, you must have the following:
11. Master’s (MEng/MSc, or BSc with significant experience), in a STEM subject (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or other natural sciences)
12. A Master’s degree in Process Safety and Loss Prevention, Risk Management, Fire & Explosion
13. Protection Engineering or similar would be advantageous
14. Experience of managing and delivering projects is essential, ideally in a consultancy environment
15. Preferably 5-10 years for senior engineer roles, or 3 - 5 years for project engineer roles of experience in technical consultancy with knowledge of a broad range of safety and risk subject areas, such as ATEX / DSEAR compliance, COMAH / SEVESO compliance, Consequence modelling and risk assessment (2D or 3D modelling tools), HAZID/HAZOP facilitation
16. Enthusiasm for areas of expertise and providing motivation, guidance, and support to colleagues and the wider technical community
17. Preferably experienced with commercial project management
18. The right to work in the UK
19. Full UK Driving Licence
Any additional relevant experience with regards to advanced consequence modelling, structural response and fire modelling, environmental assessments for high-hazard sites, Pharmaceutical, Hydrogen / Energy Transition / Decarbonisation / CCUS will be advantageous.
About the rewards
For the role of Process Safety Consultant you will receive an excellent salary of £35,000 to £55,000 per annum depending on experience and the benefits include:
