Your Role as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide Personalised Support: Work closely with a child with high SEN needs, tailoring support to meet their unique requirements.
Encourage Independence: Help the child develop confidence, communication skills, and autonomy.
Assist with Learning Activities: Support the child during lessons, ensuring they can access the curriculum and stay engaged.
Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support.
️ Ensure Wellbeing: Safeguard the child’s welfare and promote their overall development, following school policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
* Essential Requirements:
o Previous experience working with children with high SEN needs, especially in a 1:1 role.
o A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o A current enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
o A flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach to challenges.
* Desirable Skills:
o Training or experience in areas such as Autism, ADHD, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH).
o Familiarity with SEN strategies and tools to support learning and development.
o A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support.
