Brook Street Social Care are now recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work with our client in Pontefract.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs in educational settings. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing tailored support for individual pupils or groups of pupils with special educational needs, assisting with their learning activities and ensuring appropriate supervision and care.
2. Maintaining high-quality records of the support provided in line with identified needs and support strategies.
3. Facilitating the integration of pupils into mainstream education when applicable.
4. Assisting with the personal needs of pupils, including social, health, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters (e.g., toilet training, feeding, positioning).
5. Carrying out medical procedures such as administering medication and undertaking specialised feeding programs (training will be provided).
6. Preparing the classroom for lessons and ensuring it is cleared afterwards.
7. Assisting in displaying student work effectively within the classroom.
8. Reporting any pupil issues or behavioural challenges to the teacher or line manager in accordance with school policy.
9. Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and achievements to the teacher or line manager.
