This role will be part of the newly formed Market Access COE and report into the Vice President, Market Access and Reimbursement. The Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) is responsible for building and leading the HEOR function at Convatec. This will be a pivotal role in building our Convatec Market Access capabilities and in driving our business strategy within the evolving global market access and reimbursement landscape. The HEOR Director will work cross-functionally and across regions to envision, create, and communicate compelling HEOR evidence supporting the value of Convatec’s products and services for reimbursement and healthcare payers across the product lifecycle. In this pivotal role, your key responsibilities will include : • Leading the HEOR strategy for Convatec’s portfolio to support optimal funding, payment, and access to Convatec’s products and services. • Serving as the HEOR lead on cross-functional teams to ensure HEOR priorities and strategy are aligned with commercial, medical and clinical affairs, research and development, regulatory and market access plans across the product lifecycle. • Providing key input to the design of Convatec clinical programs to ensure appropriate inclusion of HEOR endpoints relevant to payers, clinicians, and patients. • Leading the development of HEOR projects (internally and externally), including developing research protocols, selecting appropriate statistical methodologies, interpreting study results, and communicating to internal and external stakeholders, and dissemination of findings (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, conference presentations). • Staying current with HEOR trends and provide strategic content expertise to all product development and related planning activities. • Providing HEOR-related training to increase internal awareness and understanding of HEOR and its role in supporting market adoption of products and services • As the market access COE evolves, identifying HEOR gaps and strategies to best support the business. In our successful candidate, we will be looking for the following experience and key skills/behaviours : • An advanced Degree in health economics, pharmaco-economics, public health, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related discipline (Masters’ degree, PhD, PharmD, or MD) • Extensive experience in health economics and outcomes research or directly related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology. • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and communicate technical data to non-technical audiences and proficiency in understanding and communicating scientific data. • Strong business acumen and record of developing and implementing meaningful strategic and operational HEOR initiatives successfully and with clear business results. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration and influencing skills cross internal and external stakeholders. Ideally, we are also looking for the following : • Successful first or last authorship on multiple peer-reviewed publications and abstracts • Experience in wound care, incontinence care, and ostomy care Your key stakeholders and primary contacts in this role will include : • Key internal customers may include Medical and Clinical Affairs, commercial teams, new product planning teams, R&D, business development, and legal teams. • Key external customers may include provider customers (hospital economic buyers and physicians), payers (government and private), physician societies and industry trade associations. There will be some travel in this role, up to 30% of the time and mostly within Europe and the U.S.
