£43,540 (37hr week days no shift work in this role)
One of our clients in the Harrogate area is looking for a Deputy Head of Care and Quality Lead to work in a rewarding student environment. We are looking for an upbeat, positive person that really wants to make a difference. This is a unique position and will be working days, so no shift work involved which is a bonus. You will be working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, or can be negotiable. We do ask that the person can be flexible as well for this role as 1 in 10 weeks you will be on call, so need to have a flexible approach to the role and duties. Purpose of Post
1. Assisting the Head of Care in the Continuous Improvement of the quality of care, support, and learning support offered.
2. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external quality assurance agents.
Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage the delivery of a safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led service for students.
2. Responsible for CQC Monitoring and audits.
3. Take responsibility as agreed with the Head of Care to lead on Safeguarding and Health and Safety matters.
4. Lead the care staff and specialist services to create an inclusive learning environment to enable the students' aims of placement to be met both in the college and residences.
5. Work with the Deputy Head of Care to support each other in service delivery.
6. Work with the College Registered Nurses to ensure that safe and appropriate clinical care is delivered for those students with more complex health needs.
7. Ensure the effective deployment of the care staff throughout the College to ensure that the provision and delivery of support, care, education, and extended learning requirements for the students are effectively met.
8. Lead, support, and manage the Care Leads and their Deputies in the development of their staff teams through observations, regular supervisions, and appraisal to achieve the required standards of performance and deliver a safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led service for students.
9. Ensure effective liaison and communication with the curriculum staff and specialist services to create an inclusive learning environment to enable the students' educational needs to be met.
10. Attend weekly support meetings with House Managers and Head of Care to ensure open communication is maintained.
11. Lead meetings on behalf of the Head of Care as required.
12. Ensure the weekly hours are planned to quality assure the student experience.
13. Ensure that appropriate, clear, accurate, and compliant systems of recording, reporting, and quality control are maintained; plan and undertake an annual audit cycle with improvement-based QI reports.
14. Contribute to review reports, attending and reporting to reviews and meetings as necessary.
15. Work with the Head of Care in the annual review of policies and procedures as required by CQC.
Education, Training & Experience Requirements
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Excellent Communicator
2. Qualification in Care Management in an appropriate discipline at Level 5
3. Good standard of education
4. Understanding of the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety/CQC
5. Understanding of Child Protection/Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures
6. Knowledge of the regulatory framework within which a residential college for people with learning and physical disabilities operates, including the needs of children under 18.
7. Experience of working in a Registered Manager Capacity
