About the role
Our Edinburgh and Lothians Outreach Service is dedicated to supporting young people with additional needs, helping them integrate into their local communities through a person-centred approach. We focus on empowering them to reach their full potential while ensuring they enjoy meaningful activities, try new experiences, and engage in outings that bring them joy.
The Outreach Support Worker role is a fantastic opportunity for experienced care professionals looking to advance their careers while playing a key role in supporting young people in their local communities. As driving is a crucial part of this role, we'll provide a car for your outreach sessions, enabling you to transport young people safely to activities, outings, and experiences that enhance their confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities will include building relationships with the young people, planning and delivering outreach sessions, identifying individual goals, and supporting them in achieving their desired outcomes. You'll be out and about, driving young people to and from activities, ensuring they can access their communities and experience new opportunities. Our 2:1 support ratio for solo outreaches and 1:1 for group outreaches means you'll always work alongside a colleague, ensuring a team-focused approach with no lone working.
For this role there is a requirement to have a driving licence, driving experience for a minimum of 12 month and aged 21 for insurance purposes.
