Role Summary
The Medical Staffing Officer will promote excellence in customer service by being the contact for managers and Medical and Dental staff for a designated Clinical Care Group within the trust, offering advice and guidance to provide proactive, comprehensive and professional day-to-day HR support services to present, future and past members of staff, bank workers and honorary staff. The post holder will also support recruitment for senior medical and dental staff within the Trust in line with current policies and procedures.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen, as a result of parental leave within the team, for a responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the busy Medical Staffing Team on a 12 months fixed term contract covering Maternity Leave.
In this role you will be one of the key Medical Staffing Team contacts for a designated Clinical Care Group, and will work closely with management and clinical colleagues in the specialties within the care groups in order to undertake a variety of time-critical tasks. Some of these tasks include, but are not limited to:
* To be responsible for administering the recruitment of all Senior Medical and Dental Staff including Consultants, Specialty and Specialist Doctors (SAS), GP’s and Leadership positions.
* To organise and attend Consultant interviews (Advisory Appointments Committees), take interview notes and ensure interview standards are adhered to.
* To answer and resolve complex enquiries, providing advice and guidance to managers and staff on the best practice associated with HR policies and procedures.
* To be an expert in Junior Doctors' terms and conditions, working with department Rota Co-ordinators to build and authorise Junior Doctor rotas.
* To be an expert in Consultant and SAS Terms and Conditions, dealing with queries in relation to consultant job planning and pay progression.
* To lead on the annual rotational Doctor in Training onboarding.
You will interact and establish rapport with both medical and managerial colleagues. You must possess excellent administrative and organisational skills, along with an ability to analyse situations, problem solve and provide solutions, being assertive when required in order to work to the required deadlines of the pieces of work required of this role.
You will be proficient with Excel and able to manipulate spreadsheets and produce reports.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid approach with both office and home working but there is an expectation that you will attend meetings and interviews at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital site on a regular basis.
You will be expected to promote excellence in customer service and uphold the reputation of the Medical Staffing Team, continuously striving to improve and develop services to support the medical workforce.
