Tower Crane Field Electrician
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Varies depending on the job you are assigned to.
Salary: £16.50 to £23.50 per hour depending on experience.
The pay structure is set so that overtime starts after 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an unpaid lunch break of a half an hour. Any overtime hours which may be necessary would be paid at a rate of time and a half during the week, and Saturday and Sunday working is paid at double time.

Within the Falcon Group is Falcon Tower Crane Services, the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and one of the largest in the world with just under 450 tower cranes nationwide. Falcon Power Generation has 400 generators nationwide along with Falcon Freight, which operates a fleet of 32 HGV vehicles with a selection of units supporting artic and rigid HIAB cranes. Due to the continued expansion within the Group, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Tower Crane Field Electrician to join our Service Department. The successful applicant should have a minimum of five years’ experience within tower cranes along with erection and dismantling experience; however, relevant experience in a similar field could be considered. The successful applicant must also be willing to travel nationally and work away from home when required. Full training alongside engineers with various skill sets will be given until duties can be performed independently.
Responsibilities - Tower Crane Field Electrician:
1. Attending and rectifying breakdowns on our fleet of tower cranes, including our self-erecting cranes, when required.
2. Servicing and Maintenance of our fleet of tower cranes, including our self-erecting cranes, when required.
3. Being part of the erection team for the installation and setup of the tower cranes and to be part of the dismantling team across the UK and Northern Europe.
4. Installation of ancillary items to the tower cranes, for example but not limited to Aviation Lights, Floodlights, Illuminated Signs, Anti-collision systems, and Anemometers.
Qualifications - Tower Crane Field Electrician:
Essential:
1. 2391-51 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
2. NVQ Level 3 in either a Mechanical or Electrical background
3. Current Wiring regulations, for example, Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th edition)
Desirable:
1. CPCS Slinger/Signaller – All Types – static duties (A40B)
2. NVQ Level 4 – Lifting Operations
3. Appointed Person Lifting Operations (AP A61)
Skills – Tower Crane Field Electrician:
1. Fault finding experience
2. Problem Solving
3. Competence with 3 Phase electrical supplies
4. Competence with low voltage AC and DC control circuits
5. Ability to read schematic diagrams
6. Capable of following manufacturers' guidelines and safe systems of work
7. Ability to work well as an individual and as part of a team
8. Comfortable with working at height and trained on rescue systems
9. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with the ability to deliver excellent customer service on our projects
10. Prepared to work outside in all weather conditions, for which suitable PPE will be provided
