30 Hours (Monday – Thursday) Temporary for 3 years
We are looking to recruit a Senior Business Support Officer to support a specialist to fulfil their tasks and duties as a Senior Learning Mentor in the Attendance and Inclusion Team.
The Attendance and Inclusion team discharges the Local Authorities statutory legal responsibility for school attendance and ensuring Sheffield’s children are accessing and engaging with appropriate education, identifying and removing any barriers including preparing children for school.
Applicants must have experience of minuting complex meetings
1. You will be arranging and attending meetings to take notes alongside the Specialist, to ensure that the content and next steps are understood.
2. Arranging the logistics of travel & access to relevant premises (e.g. schools/offices).
Applicants must have experience of using databases
3. You will be entering data, checking for accuracy and logic, flagging up potential errors, conducting standard interrogation to answer queries.
4. We use Capita 1 and Liquid Logic as our main management of children information system. It is not essential to have experience of these databases but the successful applicant must be able to learn quickly as they will use Capita1 and Liquid Logic on a daily basis for a range of tasks.
Applicants must have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
5. You will be supporting the specialist with emails to understand content, process expectations, and ensure actions/follow up are completed.
6. Support with formulating and responding to emails with oversight from the specialist to arrange meetings and share information.
7. Support the specialist to assist in the management of diary appointments.
8. Support with workload prioritisation and processing of workload in a timely manner. Providing prompts for outstanding actions and preparing for upcoming meetings.
The applicant will assist and instruct the specialist in relevant work processes
9. Providing prompts, throughout the day, to ensure that: the specialist’s wellness recovery plan is followed, breaks are taken, and that flexible working agreements are embedded.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, flexible and dedicated to providing a high level of administration support to the specialist.
This is an interesting opportunity for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is able to liaise effectively with a wide range of people from parents to senior leaders and practitioners.
Induction and training will be provided. The post is hybrid working from the City Centre combined with home working and travelling to community schools to minute meetings.
Addendum:
This role will provide 1:1 support, through Access to Work, for an Inclusion and Attendance Specialist within the Access and Inclusion Service.
The role will involve supporting the individual to fulfil their tasks and duties in the following ways:

12. Attendance & minute taking at meetings, alongside the specialist, to ensure that the content and next steps are understood.
13. Attend meetings and training face to face and online with the officer and make relevant notes to ensure information can be reviewed and processed at a later date.
Assist and instruct immediate colleagues in relevant work processes
