We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and proactive Support Worker for a part-time role with a full Driving Licence to join our small team of established carers in the St Helens area. This is a permanent position.
Meet our client:
Our client is a young girl aged 12 with Cerebral Palsy. She is looking for passionate, fun-loving, caring support staff to join her support team in her home, school, and community. She suffered a brain injury at birth and has a permanent PEG (for top-up feed and medication needs). She also requires support with all Activities of Daily Living. Experience is preferred but not essential as you will work as part of a team and will receive all required training, including regular clinical supervision.
You will be required to drive our client's adapted mobility vehicle to escort her to and from school and in and around the community.

What you will be working:
This is a Part-time - 18hrs per week role. Our client attends school, and to meet her needs and her family’s, the shifts are split:
* Monday to Friday 07.00 - 09.00 (to support with getting to school)
* Monday to Friday 14.30 - 20.30 (meal preparation, socialization, and preparing for bed)
* Saturday & Sunday 10.00 - 20.00 (to support with access to the community)
* Additional hours during school holidays are required, from 10.00 till 20.00
We also have waking night positions:
Timings: 10pm - 7am
What you will be doing:
* Establish and maintain a trusting, therapeutic working relationship with client, family & Case Manager.
* Support the client in line with the Care Plan guidelines.
* Promote, monitor, and maintain health, safety, and security in the workplace.
* Promote effective communication with all parties.
* Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse.
* Liaise with other agencies when required.
* Complete daily records as advised including time sheets, daily records, care plan summary, and critical incidents.
* Attend supervision, team meetings, and other meetings with the employer and other persons as nominated by the employer.
* Attend training sessions as arranged.
* Support the client to attend and participate in a range of community activities.
* Support the client to attend hydrotherapy if required.
* Carry out therapy practice sessions as advised by treating professionals.
General:
* Observe and operate at all times in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
* Provide a flexible working pattern to ensure the smooth operation of service, including working out of core hours, weekends, and public holidays.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate and as reasonably required to meet the changing needs of the service.
* Ensure service user needs and business objectives are met.
The post requires that you work independently and as part of a team. Reliability, integrity, and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.
What you will have:
* Full Clean Driving Licence.
* Some experience of neurological conditions and working in a community setting.
* Experience of working with clients with complex needs is desirable.
* Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
* Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational, time management, and planning skills, with a commitment to self-management and continuous personal development.
* IT literate: Use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working.
* Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping.
* Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
