Job Description:
Wood Transmission and Distribution is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial area of our growing business! As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor role provides flexibility as a hybrid role, working between home, site, and ideally our Glasgow office.
This role is perfect for an established and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor from a civils/infrastructure background, although not essential, with a wide range of projects, ideally construction, under their belt, who is looking for a new high-profile challenge. The successful candidate will be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. They will be assigned to a contract with SSE, a client, and will have opportunities to work on various Scotland-based transmission and distribution projects.
Sound commercial judgment, flexibility, the ability to collaborate via MS Teams, and travel to sites across the UK are key qualities.
You will provide commercial support concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of our client project. Responsibilities include post-award contract administration, providing commercial/contract deliverables, implementing project plans, undertaking cost analysis, preparing cashflow forecasts, developing subcontracting strategies, contributing to internal project reviews, and developing project forecasts. You will manage projects from construction start, monitor execution, identify Wood entitlement, and manage performance within budgets.

Qualifications:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, with relevant professional qualification (preferred).
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
* Significant experience in a QS or Senior QS role, preferably with overhead lines background, though not essential.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Understanding of corporate and project procedures.
* Experience in contract administration and change management.
