We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category B men's prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York
HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the governments drive to cut reoffending. The prison site is currently under construction and Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract to begin delivering services in April 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of between £24,670 and £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
2. Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
3. Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
4. Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
5. Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
6. Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications required
10. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
11. Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
12. Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
13. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
14. Excellent communication skills
15. Good IT skills and IT literacy
16. Ability to work within a busy environment
17. Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
