Our client, a public sector organisation, is looking for a Business Analyst to join on a permanent basis. You will be a driving force in working closely with the PMO Manager on starting a BA function, which will include setting up processes.
The Role
This is a role for an experienced Business Analyst with a demonstrable track record of understanding, gathering, and documenting business requirements and working closely with teams to ensure that business needs are captured and analysed in a way that aligns with strategic business goals.
The organisation is about to embark on a substantial portfolio of change over the next 5 years, comprising a large variety of programmes and projects covering everything from legislative change to digital transformation. Effective business analysis support and specialist advice is required to support the successful delivery of this change and set up robust processes that support our change delivery long-term.
The successful candidate will spend their day-to-day working with projects to develop appropriate documentation for process flows, business requirements, user stories, and change specifications. They will also be working within the PMO to set the standards and processes for business analysis that will be used across the organisation. You will be responsible for providing sound specialist advice to the project managers and senior officers and making recommendations that will be influential in setting the direction of the projects. You will also be expected to work with a significant degree of autonomy and, where appropriate, to challenge.
Ideal Person
We are looking for a person with an enthusiasm for business analysis and supporting the successful delivery of change; they will have both strong technical skills and stakeholder management expertise.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Experience working within both small and large-scale projects and programmes.
2. To hold or be working towards BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis.
3. Experience in developing appropriate documentation for process flows, business requirements, user stories, and change specifications, and a strong understanding of methodologies which can be applied.
4. A good understanding of how to build business analysis capabilities within an organisation.
5. Strong stakeholder management skills to support working with a wide range of colleagues.
6. Ability to get to the heart of system issues and offer solutions.
7. Experience of working alongside digital delivery colleagues.
