Role: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Chigwell Pay rate: £100 a day Milk Education are seeking talented, driven and passionate individuals to provide KS1 – KS4 students support on a 1:1 and whole class basis as a SEN Teaching Assistant. We are currently partnered with an independent specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Based in Essex, the school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with moderate learning difficulties, a primary diagnosis of autism or with a clear evidence of being on the autism pathway. SEN Teaching Assistant key responsibilities: Prepare or pre-teach students to ensure that they are able to fully engage with learning. This will include reminding them of previously learned strategies Provide, and as appropriate develop, additional resources, models or images to assist students with their learning Support the use of specialised equipment within a learning environment Identify and signal transitions, preparing students for change Assist in the development and delivery of structured programmes of learning for all students Enable students to meet their personal and therapeutic needs Support students with their interaction with peers to ensure that learning is effective Assist students to engage in independent and self-directed learning Support assessment processes, monitor, record and report outcomes, amending work appropriately Be fully aware of individual student targets and provide the necessary advice, support and guidance to enable them to be achieved SEN Teaching Assistant must haves: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Creative and the ability to be innovative in finding solutions A good knowledge of IT skills Enthusiasm and energy The ability to think reflectively A commitment to personal and social development of self and others Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure The ability to meet deadlines A team player A sense of humour Effective organisational skills Please email if you are fit for the role and send your most updated CV, alternatively please apply on the platform here.
